Government gives nod to new TiVo feature

SFGate reports:
"Federal regulators on Wednesday approved technology allowing TiVo subscribers to send copies of recorded shows over the Internet."
One huge feature request down and two to go. Next up, sending files to your home computer for local playback. After that, the ability to burn those files as playable DVD or VCDs. I'll be over here on the edge of my seat if anyone needs me.

I am very very surprised they approved this due to their uptight approaches to technology and info sharing, but it's great news!

ReplayTV the competitor to Tivo at one point had this and it basically pushed them into the ground. I guess it takes the underdog to take the litigation to make a point, in order for the big guy to reap the benefits.
